In the evaluation of future asset integration, Explorer Pipeline Company hired Argus Consulting to study and determine the options available in the development of a gasoline pipeline between Explorer terminals at Arlington and Grapevine Texas. Considerations included the utilization of existing pipeline assets already owned by Explorer in conjunction with the acquisition of existing pipelines from other pipeline companies or the construction of a new segment of pipeline to complete the link. During this project, Argus researched the location, capacity and integrity of the existing pipelines under consideration, as well as determined a routing, construction cost and implementation of a new segment of pipeline. Completion of the analysis indicated if existing pipeline segments could be acquired, the project could be implemented immediately and at a cost advantage. Following the study, Argus developed the necessary documents to facilitate the necessary right of ways and interconnection of the pipelines to provide a contiguous system.
