This project was part of a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Task Order Contract focusing on the planning and design of aircraft fuel storage facilities and aircraft hydrant fueling systems worldwide.

The new hydrant fueling system at Nellis AFB played a key role in significantly enhancing the efficiency of fueling operations in support of Red Flag, Air Warrior, and other joint training exercises to train pilots in simulated combat exercises. The hydrant system consists of:

  • Two 420,000 gallon capacity aboveground tanks
  • An 8-inch pipeline
  • Fuel receiving transfer line
  • Two 10,000 BBL storage tanks
  • 3000 GPM Type III pump house
  • Nine aircraft refueling hydrant outlets
  • Six truck fillstands
  • Six new super truck fill stands

The enhanced capability of this new fuel facility is important as it replaced a 50-year-old flight line fuel yard, reducing fill times and increasing response times.
