Argus heavily contributed to the past two major expansion programs at DFW’s fuel storage facilities. In 1996-1998, Argus provided construction management services during the addition of:
- Three new 80,000 bbl tanks
- Refurbishment of three 76,000 bbl tanks
- New 16,800 gpm hydrant system pump
- Filter equipment station
- New spill containment dikes
- Inter-connecting piping
- New control system
The $2.7 billion Capital Development Program in 2000 brought about more major expansion of the existing fuel storage facility. Additionally, Argus provided complete engineering design and construction follow-on services for all elements of this 125-gate mega-project. Argus designed and commissioned a revolutionary new hydrant cart test stand. This state-of-the-art system permits control by into-plane operators of flow rates into hydrant carts. This replicates actual aircraft fueling operations and results in a significant reduction of actual gate refueling time.
- Airport-wide Emergency Fuel Shutoff System replacement
- Two additional 80,000 bbl Jet A Tanks
- Ten new valve vaults airport-wide to isolate the system for EFSO and leak detection
- New, fully automated, leak detection system on 35 miles of the underground piping
- Replacement of fuel controls system at fuel form • New automatic tank gauging equipment
- New hydrant fuel system for DFW’s new International Terminal – Terminal Dx
- Relocation of B4 hydrant pits at 64 gates to accommodate the new airside automated people mover
- Relocated glycol storage tanks and mixing equipment
