Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Planning, Design and Construction Follow-On

Argus Consulting was selected by American Airlines to provide the planning, design and construction follow-on services for their LAX hub expansion program. This program included significant modifications to existing Terminal 4 gate areas as well as construction of a new American Eagle Operations Facility at LAX.

Gate Planning
The most significant element of this project was working with A/A on the aircraft gate layouts and aircraft parking plans. The T-4 Facility included the development of a plan where a mix of F100, MD80, B737, B747, B757, B767 and B777 aircraft must be integrated into the operational scenario.

American Eagle
A separate, but integral component of this hub expansion program, is the development of a stand-alone passenger operations center for American Eagle. The existing A/A Maintenance Facility Ramp will be converted to a 8-10 aircraft parking apron for AE. To facilitate this change, Argus revised and extended the aircraft hydrant fueling system to serve American's needs.
