Miami International Airport (MIA)
Design and Construction Follow-On
North Terminal
Development
Argus Consulting was selected by American
Airlines to work on it's North Terminal Development Program at Miami
International Airport, Fla.
Concourse Reconstruction
The
program consisted of reconstructing Concourses A, B, C and D into a
contigious linear facility to satisfy A/A's operational
requirements. This multi-year, multi-phased project began in 1998
and will continue through 2004.
Aircraft Hydrant Fueling
System
An important aspect of this program was the
inclusion of an aircraft hydrant fueling system, providing efficient
into-plane fuel servicing. The fueling system project includes new
piping, pits and controls for 47 A/A gate positions and 21 American
Eagle gate positions. To keep American Airlines' daily
operations at Miami International intact, construction of this
project will be performed in a sequenced process requiring 14
phases.
Argus' Responsibilities
In
addition to the development of construction documents, Argus
performed a fuel supply analysis, computer-generated hydraulic surge
analysis, operational analysis, gate planning studies, a master
Phasing Schedule. Project issues such as subsurface
investigations, environmental plans, storm water plans, dewatering
plans, leak detection systems and double-wall piping systems will
also be addresssed.
