Nationwide UST Management Program
Argus staff have provided planning, design and professional engineering services for Trans World Airlines for the management of their underground storage tanks (USTs) nationwide. The USTs contained products ranging from Jet-A to ethylene glycol. A total of 19 projects were completed at ten airports.

Compliance Assessment
Existing site conditions were reviewed and an assessment report of the USTs was developed with respect to their compliance to federal and state regulations. A compliance program was developed to close, upgrade, or replace non-compliant tanks. Cost estim ates were prepared for each tank and finally the projects were identified and a schedule prepared.

Engineering Design Services
Staff has experience preparing drawings and specifications for each of the 19 projects. In addition, Tenant Alteration Applications (TAAs) were completed for each airport. This required a close working relationship with the airport authority staff. Arg us staff assisted in the contractor selection and performed construction oversight on a number of projects.

Design/Build Services
Argus staff completed a number of the UST projects as design/build projects. Drawings and specifications were completed as part of the TAA process, however, sucontractors were selected and contracted. Construction management was completed on all design projects. This design/build approach allowed the projects to be completed in less time and reduced overall construction costs.
