Argus Consulting, Inc.

Amoco Oil Company Fleet Express – Various Locations

Programming, Planning, Feasibility Studies, Code Research and Design

Argus Consulting was selected by Amoco Oil Company to study, plan, research, and design unattended fueling facilities at numerous sites, examples being Denver, Colorado; Kansas City, Missouri and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The unattended fueling facilities provide Amoco with a safe and effective new method of dispensing gasoline to fleet vehicles while reducing operating costs.

Research and Development
Argus developed a new prototype unattended fueling facility concept. This task included research of applicable codes on the state and local level. Additionally, the prototype facility was designed to facilitate the design and construction of the first and additional sites. The challenge was to distinguish this facility from similar facilities originally installed in Europe. Because of the plan to develop numerous sites nationwide, in a tight timeframe, the design was streamlined to apply to other facilities.

Specific Duties
Specific assignments included: planning and sequencing of numerous sites, and site layouts to facilitate storage, distribution and dispensing systems. Other tasks included calculations relating to system flow rates, determination of applicable codes and standards, mechanical, electrical, control systems, fueling engineering design and the creation of construction documents.

Construction Management Services
Argus has also provided construction management services to qualify and recommend contracts, review submittals, oversee and inspect construction, and meet with local planning and review committees.
