Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW)
Future Terminal Planning
Due to the continuous growth at DFW, the DFW Board has embarked
upon a comprehensive study to determine the need for new Passenger
Terminal Buildings.
Fueling System Study
As part of
the overall Planning and Programming tasks, the DFW Board employed
Argus to conduct several studies and perform multiple scenerio
analyzes of DFW's Aircraft Fueling System. Argus investigated
current facilities and systems, determined future requirements,
analyzed operational issues and presented a Planning Report with
recommendations. Argus researched the operating capacity of the
overall aircraft fueling facility and associated systems serving
DFW.
Technology Issues
A significant
planning issue in this project was the utilization of two existing
distribution lines installed during the original airport
construction more than 20 years ago. To determine the integrity of
these lines, Argus was responsible for evaluating the cathodic
protection reports, implementing an intelligent pigging/video
process and conducting hydrostatic pressure tests. These efforts
will save thousands of dollars in new construction.
