Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS)
Peer and Constructability Review
The BOS Airline Fuel Committee hired Argus Consulting to conduct
a Peer and Constructability Review of a major aircraft hydrant
fueling system expansion project proposed at Boston-Logan
International Airport.
Fuel Distribution System
The
project task was to review and evaluate the integration of a new
fuel distribution piping system connecting the fuel storage
facilities to multiple aircraft hydrant fueling systems. This system
served 70-75 aircraft gate positions with flow rates of
12,000-16,000 gpm. Sub systems included: a leak detection system,
emergency fuel shut-off systems and fuel isolation systems.
Other Assignments
In addition
to this assignment, Argus has also performed multiple design
projects to add new or modify existing hydrant system gate positions
for American, Delta, Northwest, United and U.S. Airways. These
projects required careful planning and construction coordination to
minimize gate closure periods.
