Construction Management
Argus was retained by the San Diego Airlines Fuel Committee to
provide consulting and construction management services for the new
aircraft fuel receiving, storage and distribution facility at
Lindbergh Field - San Diego International Airport.
Project Elements
The project
included: six over-the-road transport truck unloading positions, two
- 1,000,000 gallon aboveground fuel storage tanks, and six remote
refueler loading positions. One unique element of this project
is 2,000 feet of 10-inch double wall jet fuel piping installed in a
44-inch utility casement passing under the main runway/taxiway
system. This casement connects the fuel storage facility to the
remote refueler area.

expertise from Argus included: a partnering workshop, participation
in project coordination meetings, technical assessments and
recommendations, periodic field investigations, conformation of code
and regulatory compliance, final inspection for beneficial occupancy
and assistance in start-up and testing and flushing.
