Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Planning, Design and Construction Follow-On
Argus was retained by Gensler Architects and Associates to
provide professional planning, design and construction follow-on
services for gate modifications associated with the expansion of
Terminal 5 at LAX.
Hydrant Modifications
The
project required modifications to the aircraft hydrant fueling
system, 400-hertz ground power, pre-conditioned air system and
passenger boarding bridges to permit the parking of B747-400
aircraft. This Delta Air Lines/Virgin Atlantic Airlines Code
Sharing Arrangement required modifying multiple aircraft gate
positions where a wide mix of aircraft could utilize various
passenger hold rooms.
Scheduling
Consistent with most
apron improvement projects, the design was developed and
construction scheduled to minimize the impact of airline operations
and the closure of gate positions.
