Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
Planning, Design and Construction Follow-On
Argus provided planning, architectural design and professional
engineering services for the Broward County Aviation Department in a
new 18-24 gate passenger terminal complex at FLL.
Ramp Services
Argus provided
specialized engineering expertise for the aircraft apron ramp
services and systems. Ramp services for the new passenger terminal
included: aircraft parking plans, passenger boarding bridges,
400-hertz electrical ground power, aircraft pre-conditioned air,
hydrant fueling and aircraft guidance and parking systems.
Operational Requirements
As the
design concept of this passenger terminal facility was for common
use gate and boarding area operations, a wide mix of aircraft must
be anticipated. To accomplish this operational requirement,
Argus worked with the Program Manager and Terminal Architect to
develop a gate parking plan to support aircraft ranging from
BAE-146's to B747's.
Argus Responsibilities
Argus
was responsible for conceptual planning, preliminary engineering,
detailed design, development of construction documents and also
provided resident representation during construction of this
multi-year, multi-million dollar program.
